The focus of the level 2 Awards is on 'participation' and provide an awards structure for 7 to 12-year-olds. To encourage the participation
of all children at this Level it is sufficient that the child has tried and completed the activities to achieve a reward.
The child can receive a sticker for every five activities completed, up to a maximum of 6 stickers. These stickers can be collected
on a Record of Achievement card. Each set of 5 activities may be from any of the following sections: Jumping, Combinations, Running,
Throwing or Fitness and Fun.
All of the activities at Level 2 have performance targets.
Opportunities exist for children at this Level to achieve a Skills Award, a Multi-Skills Award,
a Healthy Athlete Award and a star:track Award. A Skills Award can be achieved by completing five activities against the performance targets
- one from each of the running, jumping and throwing sections plus any other two activities.
A Multi-Skills Award can be achieved by completing 7 activities against the performance targets – Two activities from
each of the running, jumping and throwing sections plus one other activity.
A Healthy Athlete Award can be achieved by completing the fitness and health activities against the performance targets
A star:track Award is achieved by completing one Running event, one Jumping event and one Throwing event. This format can also form
the basis for an inter-school/club or intra-school/club competition.
